Title: Uses of Time

Author: frambreliza
Fandom: On the Road with Austin and Santino

Pairing: Austin Scarlett/Santino Rice (duh)

Genres: One-shot, Real People Slash

Rating: R (?)

Word Count: 516

Summary: Austin, who is busy searching for something on the Internet, is distracted from dressmaking, which irks Santino.

Warnings: A man kiss, quel horreur!  Sex will happen; but not until the fic is over.

Disclaimer: I neither know nor own Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice. This did not happen in “real life.” No disrespect intended; Hell, they might even like this.  Anyway, this is fiction – and that’s a fact.

A/N: Just when I said I was too busy for writing another Austin and Santino fic, this came to me. Oh – and I’ve totally made up this scenario in which they are still touring the country while earlier episodes are airing; just go with it.  :P

Uses of Time

Santino Rice drew two expanses of fabric through the sewing machine to stitch a perfect straight seam, thereby creating a slimming center line for the skirt section of the dress he was building. He cut the loose threads and took a glance over at his designing partner, Austin Scarlett. Sure enough, Austin was still clicking away at his laptop keyboard and emitting frustrated sighs.

“Why are you still screwing around on the computer?” Santino said. “We have a dress to finish.  Remember, it’s supposed to be two fabulous designers doing the work; not just one!”

“I can’t believe this,” Austin whined. “I’ve been searching the Internet for almost twenty minutes, and I’m still not finding anything.”

“Then stop looking. Help me with this dress. You can always look later.”

“But we’ve been on the road for months now,” Austin said. “Every week I’ve been looking, and every week I’ve been disappointed. I don’t understand why it hasn’t happened yet.”

“What the Hell are you talking about?”

“What’s wrong with them? Could they possibly ask for two more entertaining personalities?”

“Who’s they?”

“Look at us, Santino! We have chemistry; we’re wonderful together. What’s taking them so long, anyway?” Austin sighed once more; loud and long. “I’ll just have to do it myself, I suppose.”

“I take it you’re not talking about making dresses,” Santino said, rolling his eyes, “because, HELLO; I’m currently doing that all by myself!”

Austin didn’t reply. Instead, he started typing with renewed energy and purpose.

“AUSTIN!” Santino got up and walked over to where Austin was seated. Looking over Austin’s shoulders at the computer screen, Santino saw that his designing partner had started creating a Word document which already consisted of three paragraphs.  After reading them, a booming laugh left Santino’s lips and echoed off the walls of their workspace.

“But it’s about time, don’t you think?” Austin said in his own defense. “If no one else is going to write smutty fan fiction about us, then I’ll have to be the one to set things in motion. I was thinking that I might start a blog – with an alias, of course – or maybe I’ll start a Live Journal or Dreamwidth account or something; I don’t know. And then maybe others will hop on the fan fiction bandwagon and –“

“Have I told you lately how adorable you are?” Santino was able to stop laughing long enough to bend over slightly, lean into Austin, and give him a lengthy kiss on the lips.

Austin’s porcelain skin gained a rosy sheen. “Yes, darling; each and every night, before and after we…well, you know…” his voice trailed away to a soft giggle.

“Instead of writing fan fiction, you really should be making more efficient use of your time,” Santino said in a seductive growl. He pulled Austin up from the chair.

Austin offered a suitably coy smile. “I should help you with that dress; is that what you’re saying?”

“Hell, no,” Santino said. “We can always finish it later.” And with that, he lifted Austin up into his arms and carried him off to bedroom.

well, I mean, I don't know if Austin would really look for fan fiction

You've got a point! :D Maybe Santino more likely. ( know he made some Twitter post some time back saying that he and Austin were just friends, although he could see why some wondered otherwise. :D So if the man "tweeted" about it, maybe he'd be more likely to look).

And it's funny how Santino was mad at Austin for slacking off, because throughout the show, I have noticed that both of them totally slack off at times and the other one is just like :-| and it's hilarious!

I know, they were so funny. ♥

And, awww, Santino carrying Austin off. Reminds me of when he carried him to the car when he got hurt!

That's what made me think that Santino would do that...carry him off to the bedroom. ;)

Thanks for reading and commenting. :)

Aww, thanks for noticing and commenting.

I think Santino would be a cool author, too; probably a bit of a smartass, though. :D
